English: My daughter Sarah performed this challenging composition from Franz Liszt „Consolation 2“ during a concert of her music school. I am super proud that she likes making music and writing songs. She is also enjoying playing classical piano compositions and you can see this in the Youtube video.

Deutsch: Meine Tochter Sarah hat dieses Musikstück von Franz Liszt „Consolation 2“ während eines Konzertes ihrer Musikschule gespielt. Es macht mich natürlich super stolz, dass ihr Musik machen und Lieder schreiben gefällt. Sie findest es außerdem toll klassische Musikstücke zu spielen.   Das Youtube Video zeigt das.

English: For the last time this year I’ll perform some new songs at the open stage „Kunst gegen Bares“ in the ARTheater in Cologne next Monday (15th December 2014) . I thought it would be great to do this with some of my German songs. I have never publisher these songs, so I will be very excited and curious how the audience will react. The show will begin as usual at 20:00 (admittance: 19:00; those who want to be part of it should be there right in time, because the tickets are usually sold out very quickly).

Deutsch: Nächsten Montag (15. Dezember 2014) werde ich zum letzten Mal in diesem Jahr bei der offenen Bühne „Kunst gegen Bares“ im Kölner ARTheater mit neuen Songs auftreten. Ich habe mir gedacht, dass es klasse wäre, diesmal ein paar meiner deutschen Songs zu singen. Ich habe diese noch nie vor einem größeren Publikum gespielt, daher bin ich sehr gespannt und neugierig, wie das Publikum darauf reagieren wird. Die Show wird wie üblich um 20:00 Uhr beginnen (Einlass: 19:00; ich empfehle denen, die gern dabei sein wollen, frühzeitig da zu sein, da die Karten normalerweise sehr schnell ausverkauft sind).

October 2014 – Great month for me and my music!

English: The October 2014 was a great month for me:

  1. I performed 3 of my song songs at KGB in Cologne and
  2. I improvised with Hildegart Scholten on stage of the ARTheater (see above mentioned in this blog)
  3. Due to my Facebook activities old friends found me and I was invited to a jam session in Siegen. This was really great! (see picture)
  4. Since October I am playing in a Rockband in Cologne. It’s fun to create new songs. The Band doesn’t have a name yet and we are starting from the very beginning. I am very excited to see what the future will bring!

But of course – I will continue to do my singer/songwriter stuff 🙂 !

Deutsch: Der Oktober 2014 war ein toller Monat für mich:

  1. Ich hatte mal wieder einen Auftritt mit 3 meiner Songs bei KGB in Köln und
  2. Ich habe mit Hildegart Scholten auf der Bühne des ARTheaters improvisiert (siehe in diesem Blog)
  3. Ich habe durch Facebook alte Musikerkollegen aus Siegen wiedergetroffen und wurde zu einer Jam Session eingeladen. War echt toll! (siehe Foto)
  4. Ich spiele seit neustem in einer Kölner Rockband. Es macht Spaß neue Songs einzustudieren. Wir fangen von ganz vorn an und haben noch keinen Namen. Ich bin daher gespannt, was die Zukunft noch so bringt!

Ich mache natürlich mit meinen eigenen Singer/Songwriter Stücken weiter 🙂 !

English: The title of my last song at „Kunst gegen Bares“ in Cologne (ARTheater, Ehrenfeldgürtel, Oktober 2014) was „Afraid of you“. I wrote this song when I was the lead singer of Rock Band named “Feldmann-Heide Band” some years ago. Unfortunately I played in this band only approximately a year but I had a great time and it was a super experience for me.

Like always my daughter Sarah took a video from my live performance and I posted it on my YouTube channel afterwards.

 

Deutsch: Mein letzter Song bei „Kunst gegen Bares“ in Köln (ARTheater, Ehrenfeldgürtel, Oktober 2014) heisst „Afraid of you“. Ich habe diesen Song vor ein paar Jahren für eine Rockband namens „Feldmann-Heide Band“ geschrieben, von der ich mich leider wegen meines Umzugs nach Süddeutschland recht schnell wieder nach ungefähr einem Jahr trennen musste. Es war aber ein tolle Zeit und eine tolle Erfahrung.

Wie immer hat meine Tochter Sarah den Live Auftritt auf Video aufgenommen und ich habe das anschließend in meinem YouTube Kanal veröffentlicht.

English: The title of my second song I performed at „Kunst gegen Bares“ (ARTheater, Cologne, October 2014) is „I feel free“. This song is definitely different compared to all my other songs I have published until now.

Maybe someone who is following my blog very attentively will possibly notice something. Just check it out. 🙂

Deutsch: Der zweite Song, den ich bei Kunst gegen Bares im ARTheater in Köln im Oktober gespielt und gesungen habe, heißt „I feel free“. Ich finde dieser ist definitiv anders als alle anderen meiner Songs, die ich bisher veröffentlicht habe.

English: My 4th live performance at “Kunst gegen Bares” in Cologne was really a great experience for me due to my ad-lib music comedy experience with Hildegart Scholten (see my last blog). This happened close to the end of the show. My real intention was to sing 3 new songs during this evening. None of the artists who are sitting in the auditorium know when it’s their turn to come up on stage. So they wait until the 2 moderators (Hildegart Scholten and Gerd Buurmann) ask them.

My performance was the last one in the first half of the show and I sang my songs “Losing mind”, “I feel free” and “Afraid of you”. Here you find the YouTube-video of the first song “Losing mind”:

German: Die improvisierte Music-Comedy mit Hildegart Scholten machte meinen vierten Auftritt bei “Kunst gegen Bares” in Köln mal wieder zu einer weiteren tollen Erfahrung für mich (siehe letzter Blog). Dieser Auftritt war die vorletzte Nummer des Abends. Eigentlich mache ich keine Comedy, sondern ich wollte 3 meiner neuen Songs an diesem Abend vorstellen. Keiner der Künstler, die im Publikum sitzen, weiß bei „Kunst gegen Bares“ wann genau sie dran sind. Sie warten bis sie von den Moderatoren (Hildegart Scholten and Gerd Buurmann) aufgefordert werden, auf die Bühne zu kommen.

Ich trat als letzte Nummer vor der Pause auf und spielte meine Songs „Losing mind”, „I feel free” und „Afraid of you”. Hier mein YouTube-Video des ersten Songs “Losing mind”:

My last performance at the open stage „Kunst gegen Bares“ in Cologne, Germany on the 20th October 2014 was again something new and very special for me. The comedian Hildegart Scholten, who is one of the 2 moderators of the show, asked me to spontaneously support her after I had already sang my songs in the first half of the show. I already did this twice with Hildegart Scholten as described in previous blogs, but this time she also asked the piano player Daniel Slawik who is performing with her from time to time. So I did not play the guitar, but I just sang spontaneously without knowing anything – neither lyrics nor melody. Everything was improvised – no script and no rehearsal in advance. That was fun and exciting and the audience confirmed with a huge applause that this was also fun for them. Sorry that this music comedy is in German, but maybe all the non-native speakers can feel that this was really an awesome event! You find it on Youtube and here – Feedback welcome!

I have never played a song twice at the open stage “Kunst gegen Bares” until now and so  I will play 2 or 3 new songs live a in the Arttheater in Cologne (Ehrenfeldgürtel 127) on the 20th of October 2014. Start will be at 20:00; admittance at 19:00. The tickets are quickly sold out, so if you plan to  come, you should be there right in time :-).

Let’s see what will happen this time. You’ll read it in this blog.

I still haven’t found people who want to make music with me, so I have played all the instruments on my own. I really had fun and I hope that someone will like this latest version of my song. But still it would better with others.

I played the 2 guitars, bass, cajon and I sang vocals and backing vocals. Fortunately I bought this Roland hard disk recorder some years ago :-).

I took this song, because I have got a lot of positive feedback about it.
