English: We recorded our new song „Strong enough“ at Ralphs’ home last weekend. As usual Ralph wrote the music and I took over the melody and the lyrics. There’s really nothing better than creating music we like and of course we are happy and proud about our new „baby“. You’ll find the song attached as Soundcloud file.
Our next concert will be in the Blue Shell Club in Cologne on the 8th of May 2016 (SPH Bandcontest – City Final). I will explain more about it in one of my next posts.
Deutsch:Ich habe letztes Wochenende unseren neuen Song „Strong enough“ bei Ralph eingesungen. Wie gewohnt, hat Ralph die Musik dazu geschrieben und ich habe die Melodie und den Text dazu gemacht. Unser nächstes Konzert ist am 8. Mai 2016 im Kölner Blue Shell Club (SPH Bandcontest – Stadt Finale). Ich werde mehr davon in einem meiner nächsten Posts erklären.
English:I will perform with SONIC LiQUID in the MTC club in Cologne next friday (11th March, 19:00). This time we will participate at a bandcontest and I hope that a lot of our friends and fans will come to support us. Let’s see! Every band has got approx 25 minutes on stage – so we will perform 5 or 6 songs incl. 1 very new song from our repertoire. We will of course have fun and I am sure that we will celebrate the evening with the over 5 bands.
Deutsch: Ich werde nächsten Freitag im MTC Club in Köln mit meiner Band SONIC LiQUID auftreten (11. März, 19:00). Dieses Mal ist es ein Bandcontest und ich hoffe dass viele unserer Freunde und Fans kommen werden. Wir werden sehen! Jede Band hat auf der Bühne etwa 25 Minuten zur Verfügung – also werden wir 5 oder 6 Songs (incl. 1 neuer Song) aus unserem Repertoire spielen. Auf alle Fälle werden wir Spaß haben und ich bin sicher, dass wir den Abend mit den anderen 5 Bands feiern werden.
English: I know that my song „Waiting for a better time“ is quite unusual for the repertoire of my band SONIC LiQUID, but it fits perfectly into this blog. I wrote it several years ago and the „Feldmann-Heide-Band“ – one of my first bands – liked the song so much that we arranged it for drums, percussion, 2 electric guitars, 12-string guitar, 2 keyboards, bass and saxophone (Rock/Pop style). Unfortunately I haven’t got a good recording of this version. But I recorded an acoustic version of this song during a live jam session in the south of Germany with my former Band „Backporch Stringband“ and I played my Singer/Songwriter version during the Fête de la Musique in front of the chocolate museum in Cologne last year. So some of these versions can be found in this blog (see 26th April 2014 (Artheater in Cologne), 4th May 2014 (Backporch Stringband) and 6th September (Fête de la Musique)) and in Soundcloud.
The freshest variation of this song is the SONIC LiQUID version, which was video recorded during our concert in the Blue Shell Club in Cologne in November last year. Here you’ll find the YouTube video.
Although this song isn’t new, the lyrics are still current!
Deutsch: Ich weiss, dass mein Song „Waitig for a better time“ recht ungewöhnlich für das Repertoire meiner aktuellen Band SONIC LiQUID ist, aber es passt prima in diesen Blog. Ich habe ihn vor einigen Jahren geschrieben. Der Feldmann-Heide-Band – einer meiner ersten Bands – hat er so gut gefallen, dass wir ihn für Schlagzeug, Percussion, 2 E-Guitarren, 12-saitige Gitarre, 2 Keyboards, Bass und Saxophon in Richtung Rock/Pop arrangiert haben. Davon habe ich jedoch leider keine gute Aufnahme. Dann hab ich den Song in einer Akustikversion mit der Backporch Stringband während einer Jamsession in Süddeutschland live aufgenommen und im letzten Jahr auf der Fête de la Musique vor dem Schokoladenmuseum in Köln gespielt. Ein paar der alten Versionen findet ihr in diesem Blog (26.4.14 (Arttheater in Köln), 4.5.14 (Backporch Stringband) und 6.9.15 (Fête de la Musique).
Die aktuellste SONIC LiQUID-Version wurde während eine Konzertes im November letzten Jahres im Blue Shell Club in Köln aufgenommen. Hört und seht selbst in dem YouTube-Video.

English:Last Thursday we (SONIC LiQUID) performed live on stage at the well-known club „Blue Shell“ in Cologne. The 2 supporting bands „LOST IN LUCY“ and „D.O.C.“ were awesome and we had a great time with the audience. As the last band we definitely rocked the house!
After the concert we spent some time with our friends and fans talking about music and having some glasses of beer :-). I took a video of our performance and I had to watch it directly after arriving home late at night. I will publish parts of it later in this blog.
I only took some photos backstage and during the soundcheck! You’ll find them attached.
Deutsch:Letzten Donnerstag hatten wir (SONIC LiQUID) endlich unser Live Konzert im angesagten Club „Blue Shell“ in Köln. Die beiden von uns eingeladenen Bands „LOST IN LUCY“ und „D.O.C.“ waren super und wir hatten eine tollen Abend mit dem Publikum. Als letzte Band am Abend haben wir definitiv das Haus gerockt!
Nach dem Konzert haben wir dann noch Zeit mit unseren Freunden und Fans verbracht. Es wurde viel über Musik geredet und dabei das ein oder andere Bier getrunken :-). Ich habe ein Video unseres Auftrittes aufgenommen und musste es natürlich direkt nach meiner Rückkehr mitten in der Nacht anschauen. Ich werde Teile davon in diesem Blog zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt veröffentlichen.

English: The next performance of my band “SONIC LiQUID” is fixed! The live concert is scheduled for the 19th November 2015 (location: Blueshell, Cologne; 20:00-23:00). A few months have passed since our debut. But we have used the time, rehearsed diligently and wrote some new songs. We have invited 2 other Rockbands to our concert:
“Lost In Lucy” will start with Power Dark Rock, followed by the Hardcore Bluesrock Band “D.O.C.” and we – SONIC LiQUID – will complete the event.
I am already looking forward to a great evening with lots of selfmade and new modern Rockmusic! An invite will be sent via Facebook at a later date.
Deutsch:Der nächste Auftritt meiner Band „SONIC LiQUID“ steht an! Wir werden am 19. November 2015 im Blueshell in Köln (20:00-23:00) unseren nächsten Live Auftritt haben. Seit unserer Premiere sind ein paar Monate vergangen. Wir haben die Zeit genutzt, fleißig geprobt und ein paar neue Songs geschrieben. Zum Konzert haben wir uns zwei tolle Bands dazu geholt:
„Lost in Lucy“ wird mit Power Dark Rock den Anfang machen, dann übernimmt die Hardcore Bluesrock Band „D.O.C.“ und zum Schluß dann wir – „SONIC LiQUID“.
Ich freue mich jetzt schon auf einen tollen Abend mit viel selbstgemachter und neuer moderner Rockmusic! Die Einladung kommt später per Facebook.

English: The Premiere – the very first live music performance – with my new band „SONIC LiQUID“ was a great success yesterday evening. The audience was fantastic and very open for our new songs. Their feedback was super.
I personally was very happy about the visit of old friends with whom I used to make music about 28 years ago. They partially traveled for this event more than 100 km. This is really the unifying force of music!
Below you’ll find the slideshow of a few pictures incl. our song „Afraid of you“ in the background. We enjoyed the concert very much and celebrated afterwards.

Ich persönlich habe mich sehr über den Besuch alter Freunde gefreut, mit denen ich vor ca. 28 Jahren Musik gemacht habe. Sie sind extra für dieses Event teilweise mehr als 100 km angereist. Musik verbindet eben!
